Our First Year on the Road

First off let me introduce myself and my husband.
My name is Debbie and my husband is Randy, we had talked about being full time RVers  since we where dating. I never thought it would come to be.  But if dream hard enough, sometimes dreams do come true.
We first met back in 2001, Randy is retired Army MP, after he retired he went back to school and has a Masters in Social Work. He worked at the VA in Brecksville, Ohio for 2 years roughly then had to retire again, due to his own PTSD problems.
I always worked in a dental office as an assistant chairside, or front desk for 30 yrs. It was becoming harder and harder to love my job as I had in the past.
After Randy decided to retire a second time, he and I decided to go to Georgia and help his parents on their little farm. His dad was having health issues and it was perfect for him. So in 2004 we left our jobs, moved to Georgia, and got married. We stayed there for about a year it was time to move on.
So we bought an older RV and became campground host at Indian Springs Campground in Ga. for about  4 months, then we got a job doing the same thing in Cimarron New Mexico. After that we had to return to Ohio Randy was not feeling well, I had to get him better. Our dream to full time continued on. But we had to settle down and stay in Ohio until 2015.

                                            Our Dream Starts

In 2015 we had a Class C Rv. Randy's mom was turning 80, his sister was having a surprise party for her. We decided to go down and spend a little time with her, and then be there for the party.
After the party we left and went camping near Helen,Ga. then we moved up the Franklin NC. to a campground/resort area. After being there for a few weeks we had to return home.
We had been gone about 3 three months and really had that full time fever bad!
To our surprise Randy's son and family was ready to move and made the offer to rent our home for next 4-5 years. I can't tell you how excited we were to hear those words.

Jan 2016 we went to the RV show in Cleveland,Ohio and decided we needed a bigger RV than the Class C we had. So the search began... by Feb. we had found our new home!
A 2014 Class A Thor Challenger 37 ft. perfect for us our dog, and 2 cats.
We had to be out of the house by March 1, we got out by March 5. We had some issues with the RV that had to be fixed.  One day we had the RV down at the dealership and when we returned home Randy pulled into the driveway a little to close to the house Overhang... broke the window out !  The first of our problems!

As we leave our house behind, on that rainy morning in March. We got the jeep hooked up and then off we go... straight to the dealership! We had no electrical, no wipers, lights, backup camera didn't work, radio didn't work, I was not a happy camper!  We ended up spending a few nights at the dealership, then we moved to a campground that we belong       They had told us we needed a completely new radio/computer system! This system controls all the things that were not working. The other "good" news was it was going to take at least a week to get the new one in, along with the new window, that Randy had decided we could install ourselves. yeah Right!  So for the first month of being full timers we spend it at our favorite campground not being happy campers. While there, we got the window installed. That was surprising to me. So glad to have that window in.. it is cold in Ohio in March!!

We finally get the radio installed and everything fixed. We made it on the road around the 5th of April. Oh yeah we have to get to Cortez Co. by April 15th for a work kamper job. Although we had been in touch with the campground owner, Carol, we were still a day late getting there. Carol, didn't seem to happy that we were a day late but then she told us to take our time and no need to hurry. Now Randy starts feeling sick, we think he had altitude sickness, it just gets worse, he can barely move, let alone work. It's now May, I have Basil cell skin cancer on my face that I have appt. in Grand Junction to get removed. Before we leave the park to go we were told by Carol, that if Randy didn't make up the day or two days that he had missed working we would have to leave the park
